The Greatest Applause

Posted: November 18, 2011, 2:07 pm

You can have tremendous success in this life not only in spite of, but perhaps because of your failures. Think about this. Sometimes the greatest applause is not for the winner, but for the one who tried the hardest.

Think about the races you've seen on TV or in person. Think about the person that fell down in the heat of the race but got back up and finished. And you thought to yourself, "Now, that's a winner."

So winning isn't really about coming in first place, is it? Winning is really about overcoming the fall and overcoming the temporary defeat. Winning is about pressing forward, even when you don't get exactly what you want, when you want it.
