Robin, my son, called today to wish Lynda a Happy Mother's Day. After the felicitations, I had a chance to speak to Robin about my latest Internet advertising scheme. I explained that I wanted to post short, 30-minute videos of guest interviews comprised of the audio track from the radio station and still pictures rotating.
I thought it was a stroke of genius. I was going to post the videos to YouTube. I thought I was so clever. Clever, yes. Amoral, too. It seems that regular users of YouTube abhor advertising—which apparently my idea bordered on.
If I posted the videos to YouTube, I would be violating a long-standing, accepted Internet protocol. Too bad. I was crushed. My most recent, best idea shot down in flames. Now what am I going to do to attract advertisers to the radio show with the best guests in America?
