Cabby's Spirits Get a Lift

The theme of our show this week is: "Pick America Up by Lifting Up a Friend or Co-Worker," which is exactly what happened with our 4 o'clock guest, Kelly Carlin.

Our producer, Tom Spence (aka Cabby) is a 30-year veteran in radio. He's interviewed thousands of guests and is rarely thrilled by a guest. At least that's what I thought until we interviewed Kelly Carlin.

It turns out that Spence is a George Carlin fanatic. He knows all the routines and plays on words. Kelly Carlin is George Carlin's daughter. So, when Kelly spoke about her father and growing up in the Carlin household, I could see that Spence was riveted. The interview helped to lift his spirits.
