Interviewing Dr. Marty Seldman

Posted: November 24, 2009, 8:00 pm

Let's face it. Some interviews we do on KKZZ AM 1400 are more fun than others. Today's interview was one of the fun ones.

We interviewed Dr. Marty Seldman, author of Executive Stamina; How to Optimize Time, Energy and Productivity to Achieve Peak Performance and co-author of Survival of the Savvy: High-Integrity Political Tactics for Career and Company Success. He is a Clinical Psychologist who received his PhD from Temple University.

Marty is an enigma wrapped inside a riddle. He received his B.A. in Mathematics from Cornell University, went to Japan to study Buddhism and now is one of the country's leading Executive Coaches. His clients include PepsiCo, General Mills, Honeywell, General Electric, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, T. Rowe Price, Citigroup and many more.

Two of the top techniques Marty taught us from his book Executive Stamina were the Frozen Rope technique of breathing for stressful situations and the "shifts and drifts" technique for maintaining focus on your key goals.
