Here's what happens when you go too fast: You can't build relationships. Yes, you may have acquaintances, but they're often shallow. It takes time to build solid relationships. And I'm not just talking about romantic relationships, familial relationships and friendships. I'm talking about business relationships too. Those may take even more time. And the best business is built on relationship. No man is an island. Without relationships, success is futile, if not impossible. So pace yourself and slowly build solid relationships that will stand the test of time.
If you fall down, those steadfast partners will be there to pick you. Why? You've invested in them and they've invested in you. Losers lose because they didn't spend time building relationships. Who picks them up? Who cheers them on? Losers don't pace themselves. Losers don't build relationships, which requires pacing.
"How can I help somebody do better in their life?" is the daily mantra of a winner. If you think about others, it slows down your pace. It takes you out of the center. If you're moving too fast, you don't have time for others. And they won't have time for you.
